Rockin at the Drive in Barn, Oosteeklo, 05 08 07
On a sunny Sunday afternoon it was time again to head on down to Oosteeklo for the second edition of this festival. By the time I got there, the parking space started to fill up with some very nice cars and bikes.
Unlike last year the stage has moved from position and this was a big improvement sound wise.
So first band on stage: Los Twang Marvels, hailing from Germany this band plays surf and instrumental music and do some shadowlike moves. On their setlist: “ Intoxica”, “ Barracuda”. Not a bad band to start the afternoon with.
Next band on stage: Desperado 5, This band combines different elements of 50’s Rock ‘n’ Roll and Rhythm ... continue reading

John Lewis Trio @ Ace Cafe 03 08 07
Last Friday night at the Ace Cafe: The John Lewis Trio, with John Lewis, also known as Johnny Bach and front man of The Rimshots, on guitar and piano; Wayne Hopkins on Double Bass, I’m not gonne start to name all the bands this guy has played in, but just to name one: The Houserockers; Also in this band and some other, of which the names don’t pop into my head at the moment: Mark Sprex, laying down the drumbeat in this trio.
So with a line up like that, it’s clear that the gig couldn’t go wrong.
On their playlist songs like: “ Tear it up ( played a bit slower then usual)”, “ Mercedes Benz”, “ Sam Hall”.

Elvis Presley – 30 years after
This summer, it’s already 30 years that the king of Rock and Roll, laid down his head to rest in peace for eternity. His life was way to short, but nevertheless the man was able leave a legacy of films, music and performances that even today, 30 years later, it is still hard to figure out what the true impact of the king is on the world of entertainment.
To remember the man Warner Home Video Entertainment re-release a series of his films on DVD. This is Elvis S.E. (‘81), 2-disc, Charro (‘69, 30th Anniversary), Live a Little, Love a Little (‘68, 30th Anniversary), Stay Away Joe (‘68, 30th Anniversary), Girl Happy (‘65, 30th Anniversary), ... continue reading
