Diddley improves after suffering stroke
OMAHA, Neb. - Four days after suffering a stroke, Bo Diddley walked around the intensive-care unit at Creighton University Medical Center, and doctors were encouraged that the singer-songwriter-guitarist would be able to perform again, his manager said.

The 78-year-old Diddley told his audience that he wasn't feeling well during a show in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Saturday night. Diddley's manager, Margo Lewis, said she had the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer taken to the hospital by ambulance when he appeared disoriented at the Omaha airport on Sunday.

Though Diddley's speech is impaired, he's made significant progress.

A review of Hemsby N°.38 which took place 19th - 23rd April..... By Mark Sprex
THURSDAY 24th

Well it's been a couple of year's since I ventured to Hemsby, the last time was when I played there back in 2004 with 'The Rhumba Kings'.....3 years later and I was here to provide the drums for the 'Hemsby House Band' in backing-up the legendary Ray Campi and also Canadian wildcat Bloodshot Bill.
As I had to be ready early Friday morning for soundchecks and rehearsals etc, Mrs Sprex and I arrived to Hemsby early Thursday evening to be fresh for my job on Friday...

First thing to get used to now for me as well as everybody else is the new location for the world's longest-running and famous 50's rock 'n'  ... continue reading

Bo Diddley Suffers Stroke
Bo Diddley, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of rock 'n' roll, is in intensive care following a stroke during a concert in the US. The 78-year-old singer-songwriter-guitarist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was listed as being “in guarded condition at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska” said Susan Clary, a publicist for the musician's management team.

Diddley, who has a history of hypertension and diabetes, was hospitalized on Sunday following a concert in Council Bluffs in which he acted disoriented, she said.

Tests indicated that the stroke affected the left side of his brain, impairing his speech  ... continue reading

Seatsniffers On TV
Hey All,
There's been a lot of action at Seatsniffers headquarters lately, most
of it good, some of it horrible. As most of you probably heard, our
trusty old Ford Van got stolen, with Pete's beatiful late '60's Silver
Sparkle Gretsch drum kit, my guitar amp and pedal board, and Roel and
Bob's amps, and a giant trunk full of Seatsniffers T-shirts inside,
and there's no news whatsoever about the whereabouts of our stuff.

Not only is this a serious financial setback for us, but some of the
stuff that's been stolen is going to be pretty hard to replace. I
guess there IS a downside to playing vintage instruments  ... continue reading

Review : Belgian Roots Night XIII
What could be better than starting the Weekend at a festival with a promising program? Last Friday evening, Hof Ter Loo was going to vibrate the sounds of Roots music styles going from Rockabilly to the Blues, passing by at some instrumental Surf.
To start out the evening at the bar, Don Croissant came out with an energetic act in the purest tradition of the Blues pioneers; however you could reproach him a little monotony but we can forgive him because it's not easy to play 3 sets on your own.
In the concert room, the Baboons opened the show with an interpretation of "Have love will travel" from the Sonics, followed by a set, going from  ... continue reading

T Lintfabriek 06 05 2007: The legendary Johnny Trash & The Royal Crown Revue
Another Sundaynight out on the town.
On stage this night: The Legendary Johnny Trash and the Royal Crown Revue.
The openingband was Johnny Trash, who played a shorter set then usual since the club has to make sure that they obey the laws about the noisepolution.
But that didn’t stop the band from giving all they got as usual. On their setlist songslike: “Cocaine blues”, “White Trash Valentine”, “333”, “Halleluya”. The band was joined on stage by the Cherry Chicks.
After a short break it was time for the main band of the evening. The Royal Crown Revue. This band from Los angeles was formed in 1989, so they’ve been around for quiet  ... continue reading

A film for Eddie Cochran, by Darrel Higham
A film for Eddie Cochran, by Darrel Higham
Darrel Higham wrote the first great book about Eddie Cochran, the rock pioneer who died in 1960 aged only 21 years. Cochran fans would love to have a film about his Life... Darrel was nice enough to give us his opinion about it.
Thank you Darrel!

A film for Eddie Cochran
Darrel Higham

It's been 47 years since he passed away. He influenced several generation of future megastars, and continues to do so. He was pure Rock 'n' Roll, the epitome of the image, a real man's man and the ladies loved him. He wrote his own songs, and in the process managed to write at least half  ... continue reading
